On May 3–4, 2024, the Public Administration Study Program held a Student Capacity-Building Program for the 2022 and 2023 cohorts at Villa Deo Gratias in Lembang. This program is a crucial step in supporting students’ personal and academic development.
This Student Capacity Building Program included a variety of academic and non-academic activities, with the primary goal of fostering a deep understanding of two crucial aspects of student life: Student Leadership and Accountability, and Change Management and Student Altruism. In addition, this program was designed to help students strengthen their bonds with one another, making their class more cohesive and fostering strong social ties among them. Activities such as outdoor team-building exercises and campfires served as effective tools to achieve this goal, creating an environment that supports students’ personal and professional growth.

As part of efforts to enhance student quality, this event featured two workshops: (1) Leadership and Accountability Training for Student Programs; and (2) Student Change Management and Altruism, facilitated by faculty members who are experts in their respective fields. These workshops are expected to provide a deeper understanding of developing students’ leadership skills, enhance individual and group accountability among students, and broaden their perspectives on how to become agents of national change with a spirit of altruism as an integral part of their educational experience. In addition, this event also included an Introduction to the Public Administration Student Organization presented by the Public Administration Study Program Student Association (HMPSAP), aimed at helping new students understand the structure, objectives, and activities carried out by student organizations on campus.

As such, this activity not only provides academic benefits but also creates opportunities for students to develop socially. Through this activity, students are given the opportunity to actively participate in various events organized by student organizations, expand their social networks, and collaborate with fellow students.
