COLLABORATION IN ACTION: A COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN HMPSAP UNPAR AND HIMAPARA AT STIA LAN POLYTECHNIC

On July 13, 2024, the Public Administration Student Association (HMPSAP) at Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR) held a benchmarking event in collaboration with HIMAPARA at the STIA LAN Polytechnic in Bandung. The event took place at UNPAR and was part of an effort to build student capacity by enriching their knowledge, enhancing their competencies, and adopting best practices within the organization.

The benchmarking event included various activities designed to build meaningful relationships for future collaboration, as well as to strengthen the organizations’ trust and credibility. The event was also attended by several Public Administration faculty members from both institutions. During the event, HMPSAP UNPAR and HIMAPARA at the STIA LAN Bandung Polytechnic presented profiles of their respective organizations. The goal was to provide an overview of the structure, vision, mission, work programs, and activities that each organization has carried out and plans to undertake.

As part of this event series, the Head of the Public Administration Study Program Laboratory at UNPAR delivered an informative presentation on the Public Administration Laboratory. This laboratory serves as a concrete support for the study program, playing a vital role in helping students achieve the necessary competencies in the field of Public Administration. In addition, the laboratory provides training in essential technical skills that support students’ professional development, reflecting the UNPAR Public Administration Program’s commitment to education focused on tangible outcomes.

A Focus Group Discussion (FGD) session was also part of the event, during which each department had the opportunity to discuss the specific challenges they face, share experiences, and seek solutions together. This FGD aimed to deepen understanding of the challenges in each department and develop effective strategies to improve performance and interdepartmental collaboration.

As a token of appreciation and a memento, HMPSAP UNPAR and HIMAPARA at the STIA LAN Polytechnic in Bandung exchanged plaques as a symbol of appreciation, recognition, and acknowledgment of the contributions and cooperation that took place during the event.
