On June 14–15, 2024, the Public Administration Program organized an Eco Leadership event as part of the Leadership course. The event took place at the Eco Learning Camp and featured a leadership approach focused on environmental sustainability. The primary focus of this Eco Leadership event was the integration of ecological principles into the decision-making process, as well as accountability for the ecological impacts of an organization’s actions.
The Eco Leadership program included a variety of activities, ranging from presentations on leadership in ecology and outdoor team-building exercises to personal reflection activities that emphasized that leadership must begin with oneself. Through these activities, all participants were taught to appreciate the natural world we inhabit as our home—a vital component of sustainable leadership.
Thus, participants not only gain academic knowledge about leadership but also a deeper understanding of the importance of preserving and utilizing existing natural resources. It is hoped that the hands-on experience from these activities will provide practical insights into how to integrate ecological principles into daily life.
