The Public Administration Student Gathering of West Java (SIAP JABAR) is an annual academic forum that brings together Public Administration students from universities across West Java to strengthen collaboration and exchange ideas on contemporary public administration issues. In 2022, the event was hosted by the Public Administration Student Association of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Padjadjaran University.
SIAP JABAR 2022 centered on the theme “Program Innovation for Achieving an Efficient Bureaucracy,” with participants competing in a policy brief and research paper competition addressing current public administration challenges. The competition covered several sub-themes, including Digital Transformation in Public Services, Inclusive Public Service Innovation, and Public Service Quality Improvement.
Representing Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR), the Public Administration delegation consisted of Sharon Debora, Virgilia Karin, Aditya Barus, and Negita Ceria. The team was assigned the sub-theme of Inclusive Public Service Innovation and conducted research under the title “Has Public Sector Digitalization Achieved Inclusive Public Services? Lessons from the System Usability Scale: The SALAMAN Application.” Their study evaluated the inclusiveness of the SALAMAN public service application using the System Usability Scale (SUS) methodology.
The event featured a National Seminar, research presentations, a public hearing where participants presented their policy briefs to government stakeholders, and networking activities culminating in the Awarding Ceremony.
Through their outstanding presentation and research, the UNPAR delegation was awarded the Best Presentation Award at SIAP JABAR 2022. This achievement reflects the students’ commitment to producing research that addresses contemporary public administration issues while promoting innovation and inclusivity in public service delivery.
Beyond the competition, the delegates gained valuable academic and professional experiences through discussions with faculty members, government representatives, and fellow Public Administration students from universities across West Java, further strengthening collaboration and expanding their perspectives on public administration.
